The Online Poker Weekend – Pros Back at the Tables

With the 2013 WSOP just about over as far as the general poker-playing public is concerned, over the weekend, the Sunday majors saw the usual mix of starters return to their tables. No longer tied down anywhere else, PokerStars’ own in-house pros have returned to the action in droves.
The Sunday Million for instance – by far the largest weekend major – saw players like Joe Cada, Henrique Pinho, Joao Nunes and Lex Veldhuis belly up to its tables. The only “notable” who managed to finish in the money was Stavros Kalfas though, who finished 96th, taking home a $1.3k reward for his efforts.
The biggest winner of the weekend was yet again a top finisher of the Sunday Million. A player by the online moniker of “Faranius” was the winner and he earned a $150k reward, despite a 3-way deal he had struck with the other two top finishers, but he didn’t take home the largest prize. The biggest winner was the eventual 3rd place finisher, “luznypapa”, who took home $163.7k. Second place finisher przem77 won $142k. No one else managed to break into 6-figures prize-wise. An interesting piece of trivia about this event is the fact that the winner, Faranius, started the final table as one of the short-stacks.

The Sunday Warm-Up saw a starting field of 2,751 players belly up to the tables, creating a prize-pool of $550.2k.
There weren’t any deals made in this event: the winner, “ResumeIgnore”, ended up taking home $86.6k. “Vinson0031” finished second for a $64.6k reward.
Like in the Sunday Million, none of the notables made it to noteworthy positions in this event either.

Full Tilt Poker’s $250k guaranteed failed to cover its guarantee yet again. 1,176 players showed up for this one, and the winner, a player known as “cheesies” took home $50k for his efforts.
Play in the Sunday Majors at PokerStars and take down your own 6-figure haul.
