The Online Poker Weekend – SCOOP Kicks Off

Spring is the favorite time of poker players world-over for a good reason: there so much to do, one barely knows where to buy in. The EPT’s Monte Carlo Grand Final is still ongoing, the 2013 WSOP is just over the horizon and PokerStars have just fired up their SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker). On Sunday, the first two events of what will unfold as a genuine online poker festival, have kicked off. Besides the SCOOP events, the Sunday majors rolled on as usual too, although this time one important piece was missing from the lineup: PokerStars’ Sunday Million.
Instead, Full Tilt Poker’s $350k guaranteed stepped up to the plate as the biggest major of the weekend. The tournament drew a starting field of 1,813 players, who combined buy-ins to create a prize-pool of $362.6k, crawling above the guarantee yet again.
The winner of the poker tournament was Eric Blair, who struck a heads-up deal with eventual runner-up “daaaaaaaaang7”. Blair took home $63.7k while the runner-up was rewarded with $52.9k for his efforts. Nobody in this event – or in any other weekend event for that matter – managed to climb into 6-figure territory prize-wise.

The weekend regular with the biggest winner was PokerStars’ Sunday 500, which saw 923 players belly up to its virtual tables. Simon Sun won this event, taking home the $83k top prize. There weren’t any deals made in this event. The eventual runner-up was EasyForEx, who pocketed $59.2k.

Another interesting weekend major was Full Tilt Poker’s Sunday Brawl, which offered a $200k guarantee. 1,015 players coughed up the buy-in in this one, creating a prize-pool of $203k, barely covering the guarantee.
darek1987pl won the event, taking down the $40.6k top prize. The runner-up was IzabelG, who pocketed $27k.
Sign up to PokerStars now and join the SCOOP 2013 fray to take down your share of the $40 million guarantee.
