The Online Poker Weekend – SpeckBasu Wins Big

Last weekend, the online poker action was hot despite the fact that there weren’t as many players taking part in the Sunday guarantees as the weekend before, when the 6th anniversary promotions were in full swing at PokerStars. Still, the MicroMillions events attracted thousands of players, and there was quite a bit of bustle in the Sunday majors as well. The biggest winner of the weekend was yet again the winner of the Sunday Million, Germany’s SpeckBasu. Team PokerStars Pro had a couple of members finish deep as well: Toni Judet and Martin Hruby were the two who managed to take home significant money.
The Sunday Million drew a starting field of 7,707 players, who combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $1,549,600. The top prize was a $231,214 one and it ended up in SpeckBasu’s possession. No deals were made by the top finishers, so the winner took home the maximum possible haul indeed.
TONI-BG finished second for a $169,554 reward. There was another 6-figure winner: 3rd place man fullmagro_ps, who took home $115.605. The highest finishing ‘name’ players in the event were Elio Fox, who finished in 24th place and Sebastian Bauer (who was bounced in 38th).

There was only one more 6-figure winner over the weekend: the winner of the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up, Maverick 36O. There weren’t any deals in this event either, so the winner took home $102,992. 3,208 players bellied up to the tables, generating a prize-pool of $656k. No other players finished in 6 figures. Second place went to a.S.e. high, who took home $76.7k. 3rd place finisher kiskin1979 pocketed $54.1k. Ted Sorensen was the highest-finishing ‘name’ player. He was rewarded with $2.9k for his 14th place effort. Jason Wheeler finished 27th for $1.6k.
Martin Hruby made the final table of the Bigger $55. He finished 3rd for $36.6k.
Toni Judet finished 2nd in the Sunday Second Chance for a $37.7 reward.
