The Online Poker Weekend – Sunday Million Goes to Kenji Tsukamoto

This weekend, things were back to normal at PokerStars (following their successful Double weekend) and for the first time in a long while, there were Sunday majors to cover over at Full Tilt Poker too. The Sunday Brawl was back at Full Tilt, offering a $50k guarantee. There was also a $200k guaranteed event, but the $750k guaranteed one was still missing from the docket.
The biggest and best was yet again the Sunday Million at PokerStars of course. The poker tournament saw no fewer than 7,055 players belly up to the tables, combining buy-ins to create a prize-pool of $1.41 million, blowing clean past the guarantee in the usual fashion. The biggest tournament winner of the weekend was obviously the winner of the Sunday Million, Kenji Tsukamoto, who pocketed a $180.5k prize for his efforts.
He might’ve taken home more, had it not been for a 5-way deal at the top of the pops.

Tsukamoto defeated a player known as “AleksHNL” heads-up for the win. The runner-up took home $116.6k. There were no other 6-figure winners in the Sunday Million.
The Sunday Warm-up on the other hand, added another player to the 6-figure club: the winner of the tournament, Trevor Dineen took down a $110.2k prize, after he avoided making any deals on his way to the top.
The event, which was supposed to offer a $500k guarantee, saw 3,512 players cough up the buy-in, creating a $702.4k prize-pool.
Mads Smith-Hansen finished second, for an $82.1k reward.

Full Tilt Poker’s $200k event saw its guarantee put to shame too: 3,061 players showed up for this one, creating a $612.2k prize-pool. After a heads-up deal at the top, Zebalhao took home the $100k top prize.
