The Poker Grapevine – Cada Back in Action

Online Poker’s Black Friday affected a whole range of interests above and beyond those directly linked to Full Tilt Poker. Exactly what sort of repercussions the Black Friday events had on Joe Cada is hard to tell, suffice to say though that the PokerStars pro was absent from the online tables in the wake of Black Friday for quite a while. As a matter of fact, he only returned to the virtual green felt the other day, despite having played in various live
poker tournaments world-over since the ordeal.
Obviously, while residing in the US, Cada could not play, but so many of his ilk made their way abroad after Black Friday, it’s a bit hard to explain why he hadn’t followed suit. Well, this week, he fired up a blog-post about his having set up a second residence in Canada. The way he intends to tackle the issue is a little convoluted though: given that he only lives about 45 minutes from the Canadian border in Michigan, he intends to drive over to his second residence on weekends to
play online poker there.
Cada himself said he couldn’t explain why he hadn’t made the move earlier, and that it felt great to be motivated again and back online. His first day online went well apparently. Before his Black Friday-induced break, Cada had been a successful cash game player at PokerStars and he wasn’t shabby when it came to tournament play either. He’d enjoyed a certain degree of online success even before his 2009 WSOP Main Event win, which turned him into the youngest WSOP Main Event winner up to that point.
Cada has apparently also enjoyed life a bit lately, having taken part in an African Safari with a couple of his
PokerStars peers.
