A few days ago, PokerStars have announced another stop to their EPT’s 8th season. Originally not featured on the season 8 schedule, the stop will be hosted by the Casino Hotel Loutraki in Greece and if will run between November 15 and November 20. The Loutraki stop will feature the usual selection of super satellites and side events, together with a Main Event of course, which is always the highlight of every
EPT stop.
The Main Event will cost €4.4k to enter, giving Greek players the opportunity to play in a high caliber, high prize-pool live poker tournament. Online qualifiers will probably become available at
PokerStars too, so those who cannot afford to buy in directly, will have a much cheaper possibility to earn a seat.
The decision to include the stop on the season 8 schedule came in the wake of the success that the two PokerStars sponsored Greek Poker Cup events have had this year.
Alexandros Doukas, the general manager of the 5-star resort where the stop will take place, welcomed the extension of the partnership that the establishment had with PokerStars.net.
In other news: bwin.party are set to announce their strategic US partners by the end of the year. According to Jim Ryan, bwin.party CEO, the company is definitely going to make waves with some pretty incendiary announcements in the second half of the year. Apparently, the company is currently in the process of finalizing agreements with a US partner entity that would result in a partnership that would allow all parties involved to fully exploit their brands.
Bwin .party are apparently aiming to provide an online poker platform for several land-based casino groups in a regulated US market.
According to Ryan however, the entire initiative is strongly dependant on the passing of a federal poker bill and on the suitability reviews that the group would have to undergo in case such a bill is passed.
