The Poker Grapevine – FTP Swings into Action on US Front

As its re-launch draws near, Full Tilt Poker is getting increasingly active and vocal on several fronts. The latest official communication from the company came on Thursday, via a mass-email addressed to US customers, in which Full Tilt made it clear and finally official that funds belonging to US players would be repaid via a process coordinated by the US Department of Justice. People have long heard rumors about this, but Full Tilt have finally made it official. Through the email, US players were also informed that starting November 6 – when the site is re-launched – they wouldn’t be able to play real money games at Full Tilt. They will however be able to play at the play money tables.
The email also specified that Full Tilt Poker would not be able to answer questions from players regarding their funds. Instead, those interested in following the path of the money will be able to address their questions to the DoJ.

In other news: the overall online poker traffic seems to have bottomed out a couple of weeks ago and it now registered a slight uptick for the second consecutive week in quite a while. According to websites specialized in poker traffic tracking, there has been a 2.3% overall increase following a week with yet another small growth. PokerStars have maintained their absolute domination of the market, having grabbed around 50% of all online poker traffic. What’s more, the company is set to grab an even larger market-share with the re-launch of Full Tilt Poker next month. PartyPoker claimed the second spot this week, ahead of the iPoker network. 888Poker and the Ongame Network rounded out the top 5.
