The Poker Grapevine – Full Tilt Poker Preparing for Re-launch

PokerStars have completed the acquisition of Full Tilt Poker a while ago and they have made it clear as soon as the deal was signed that they planned to re-launch the operation as early as possible. It now appears that the date for the re-launch has been set: Full Tilt Poker will go live again on November 6 2012, which means that those outside the US, who have funds tied up at Full Tilt Poker, will have to wait till October to recoup their bankrolls and to start playing again.

The company behind the operation, Rational FT Services, is on a hiring spree currently, looking to fill a number of positions essential for the re-launch of the site. Thus, customer support personnel and marketing and design experts will be hired. Various administration and finance related positions are available as well. All-in-all, there are almost a dozen jobs to fill at Full Tilt, all of them requiring relocation to Full Tilt Poker’s Irish headquarters.
There is no way the site will be re-launched any sooner, because – according to FTP’s Poker Room Manager – there’s way too much ground to cover and issues to take care of before the outfit becomes fully operational again.

In other news: Chris Ferguson may be in hot water with US authorities over his involvement in the Full Tilt Poker fiasco, but a namesake of his has just won the UKIPT’s Newcastle Main Event the other day. Chris Ferguson – again, not the ex-Full Tilt executive – bested a starting field of 623 players to pocket the top prize of £105.9k. He bested Alex Jobling heads-up for the title. The final table of the event didn’t have many high profile professionals and with the exception of Sam Holden, all the other participants were relatively unknown. Holden fell in 3rd place, picking up a reward of £39k for his efforts. Ferguson was the one who eliminated him at the end of an Ad, Qd vs Ah, 5h match-up.
