The Poker Grapevine – Full Tilt Release Yet Another Statement

On Monday, Full Tilt Poker has issued another statement in regards to the newest DoJ allegations, according to which the online poker site – once one of the two biggest in the world – was conceived and run as a global Ponzi scheme. The statement doesn’t really break any new ground. In it, Full Tilt Poker officials deny the allegations, and give a thorough definition of the “Ponzi scheme” concept, making their case that the mold can in no way be applied to Full Tilt Poker’s operations.
In closing, the statement re-iterates the fact that despite the legal problems and the new allegations regarding its owners and some of its in-house pros, the site remains committed to finding an investor, which would allow them to pay all their players back in full.

In other news: Sure Bet Poker is set to launch on October 1 and the team is apparently already busy putting together a crew of online professionals that will represent the site. The latest player to join the Sure Bet poker pro roster is Trishelle Cannatella who tweeted about her joining Sure Bet the other day. Mike Wolf and Jason Sallman are also members of Team Sure Bet. In an interview shortly after the news got out, Cannatella said she was excited about representing the site online as well as in live tournaments.

In still other news: in Sparks, Nevada, things got ugly at John Ascagua’s Nugget Hotel and Casino. In a deadly shootout, the head of the Hells Angels San Jose Chapter, John Pettigrew was killed, as guests and casino patrons dove under the tables for safety. In addition to Pettigrew, there were two other victims in the shootout: Vagos Motorcycle Club members Diego Garcia and Leonard Ramirez. Both of them survived and were treated in stable condition at the hospital.
Cesar Villagrana was arrested in connection with the shooting.
