It seems like the last Micro Millions only wrapped up a few weeks ago, but
PokerStars are keeping their recreational and low-stakes player base on their toes: the third installment of its popular Micro Millions Series is in the works, slated to kick off on November 15. The low stakes
online poker festival will last a full 11 days, culminating in a massive Main Event. PokerStars have announced that the guaranteed prize-money will hit the $5 million mark this time.
The Series will yet again feature events with buy-ins ranging from 11 cents to $22. The focal point of the Micro Millions III will be the Main Event which costs $22 to enter and which features a guaranteed prize-pool of $1 million, meaning that the winner is guaranteed a minimum pay-out of $150k.
The Micro Millions II took place in July and it drew massive crowds. The total number of participants exceeded 1,288,200 and the prize-pool total almost hit the $8 million mark. The main event winner took home a little over $157k. The third installment of the series is pretty much guaranteed to be even bigger, so everyone who’s interested in a chance to grab a massive prize for almost no investment should take note.
In other news: Dan Smith has set up camp atop the GPI Player of the Year rankings. He’s been leading the list for 10 consecutive weeks now, and there don’t appear to be any serious challengers surfacing to dispute his position. What’s more, Smith has also overtaken the overall GPI rankings recently. The top 10 of the PoY list was relatively unchanged as there was only one mover within its ranks: Marvin Rettenmaier, who climbed from 3rd to second during the week.
