The Poker Grapevine – Grospellier, Katchalov Biking Trip

The live tournament calendar has been quite eventful lately. As a matter of fact, barely had the WSOPE wrapped up in Cannes, the EPT’s San Remo stop kicked off about 180 kilometers away. Needless to say that most of the players who played in Cannes wanted to play in the EPT Main Event as well, so they flocked over, some of them in taxis, others in trains, and still others – it seems – by bike. The adventurous ones who chose to ride bikes to San Remo were
PokerStars pros Bertrand Grospellier and Eugene Katchalov, accompanied by their trainer and his girlfriend. The ride was by no means a boring one. Grospellier, who admittedly hadn’t ridden a bike in 15 years, found the going pretty tough and he fell behind. At one point he lost his way, taking a different road to Italy.
In other news: for the last few years, PokerStars have been hailed by
online poker reviewers everywhere as the poker room with the best poker client. Those who grew fond of the current software will probably not be particularly glad to learn that the site plans a major overhaul of its client. The new client will feature much sleeker graphics and it will be introduced in all the markets world-over where PokerStars are present.
Called PokerStars 7, a preliminary version of the software has already been introduced to the public at the London PokerStars VIP Club Live Event. One of the goals designers sought to reach was to reduce the number of pop-ups required for players to take a seat at the table of their choice. They achieved that by integrating more filters into the lobby. A new “quick seat” option has also been made available.
The new client will be highly customizable. Players will be able to twist and mold it to their liking through the use of an “App bar” which is among the main features of the new software.
