The poker grapevine – huge bad beat jackpot awarded at UB

Losing a hand in poker is never a good thing, and losing one on a monster is quite probably the worst. It can set of a nasty tilt, or…it can take one’s bankroll to never before seen heights. The latter was exactly the case at UB the other day, when a player known online as KAPPIT picked up quad nines at the bad beat jackpot tables and shoved all-in on them only to get called by “CJBV” who had quad Qs.
KAPPIT, a resident of Ferris, Texas, said that the jackpot she took down as a result of her bad beat was the largest one of her 45-year poker career. The size of the jackpot was a monstrous $670k, of which about $218k landed in the loser’s pockets. The winner of the hand walked away with a nice haul too: $109k. All those who were at the table got $1,000, just for assisting.

With such jackpots being run by the majority of the bigger online poker rooms, the time has never been better to sign up to Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, Party Poker of Ultimate Bet.

In the meantime, the WCOOP kept rolling over at PokerStars. Events #13, 14 and 15 are in the books.
Event #13, the $215 PLO Six-max Hi/Lo event generated a prize-pool of $357,800. The winner of the poker tournament, Kroko-dill, took home $63k for his efforts. No deals were made.

Event #14, the $265 NL Holdem Six-Max shootout, built a prize-pool of $665k. The winner of this one, knecht_poker, pocketed $104,737. He bested a field of 3,325 entrants on his way to victory.

Event #15, the $215 Razz event, saw 854 entrants belly up to the virtual tables, generating a prize-pool of $250k.
The winner of the event was TDT07. He took home $41.7k for his efforts.
