The Poker Grapevine – Luke Schwartz Being Himself at EPT London

Luke Schwartz has quite a history with the Victoria Grosvenor Casino, the host of the Season 9 London stop of the EPT. Three years ago, he got kicked out of the casino and banned for refusing to take off his hat. If that reason doesn’t seem like a solid-enough one to earn a boot in the rear end, get a load of this: after that ban expired, he got tossed out again for refusing to pay for a pickle and cheese sandwich. Whatever happened, happened, we do know however that Schwartz was back at the Casino, playing on Day 1 of the EPT’s Main Event, and he did not disappoint now either: he took aim at Adria Balaguer, the player who had in fact made the final table of the same event in the past, calling him a fish, a luck-box and several other names which we cannot feature in this piece. Although Schwartz didn’t get booted this time, his antics bore an uncanny resemblance to language he’s used in the past when he did get slapped with a ban.

In other news: PokerStars’ Sunday Warm-Up is in the books with the rest of the weekend majors, and its winner is none other than Craig McCorkell, the only British player to win a WSOP bracelet in 2012. The event featured a 5-way deal at its top, which saw the eventual winner walk away with an $80.2k prize. Another “name” player who made the final table of the said poker tournament was McCorkell’s friend, Chris Brammer. Brammer ended up in 8th place when all was said and done.

In still other news: after the Dusk Till Dawn Poker club announced its partnership with the ISPT, another heavy hitter threw its support behind the tour: Genting UK.
