The Poker Grapevine – Mizrachi Named Poker Room Ambassador

Those who want to face The Grinder at the live tables no longer have to cough up tens of thousands of dollars in travel expenses and poker tournament buy-ins. Michael Mizrachi – known in poker circles as The Grinder – has signed a sponsorship with the Turlock Poker Room in California’s Central Valley, a deal which makes him the ambassador of the above said venue. What it also means is that The Miz will periodically play at the above said poker room.
Throughout 2013, he will also don the operator’s patch, representing the brand at all the live events in which he will take part. Mizrachi’s first appearance for the Turlock Poker Room will be on January 19, when the Grinder Poker Series (quite possibly named after him) will begin. The GPS is a heads-up event, which will have its winner go up against Mizrachi in a heads-up bout, the stake of which is a $15k prize.
Mizrachi said of his ambassadorship that he was looking forward to make 2013 a memorable year for himself as well as for the Turlock Poker Room.

In other news: Vanessa Rousso may be one hell of a poker player, but she isn’t too shabby spinning on the turntable either. She was the DJ at the anniversary party held by PokerStars to celebrate the 10th edition of its PCA and she killed it. Post-party, several poker pros who attended, including Daniel Negreanu, Jonathan Duhamel and Russel Thomas, praised her DJing performance through twitter.
Those who think the organizers had taken a massive chance shoving an amateur into the deejaying limelight, couldn’t be more wrong either: Vanessa is actually the prod possessor of an Electronic Music Production certificate, which she’d picked up last year.
