The poker grapevine - new PCA event added

It would indeed be a real shame for players to fly to a tropical paradise in the middle of winter, only to lock themselves inside a casino and to play poker for their entire stay.
PCA organizers obviously share the same view. That would definitely explain their introduction of a new event to the PCA schedule. Called the Fish and Chips Showdown, the event will put players to the test from an additional angle: that of actual fishing.
Those looking to take part in the event, will have to cough up a buy-in of $2,300. This buy-in will then be split into three: $400 will represent the participation fee in the fishing derby. $900 will go towards the poker derby, and $1,000 will fund participation in the overall champion race. In determining the overall champion, the fishing derby will be counted in a one third proportion, while the poker derby will account for the other two thirds.
Players participating in the fishing derby will be required to fish within a 50 mile radius around the Paradise Island Marina. The host of the event will be none other than PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker.
Buying into the event directly is always possible but you are always better off qualifying for it online at
PokerStars. The fish and chips showdown package is worth $3,425. Open a PokerStars account now and start playing.
In other news: following the recent legalization of table games in Pennsylvania, Harrah’s were quick to jump on the newly surfaced opportunities, and have already opened their
WSOP-branded poker room at Harrah’s Chester. The poker room will host no fewer than 35 poker tables and will offer a variety of games, thus outclassing competition from the neighboring state of Delaware. The Dover Downs poker room – opened last week - hosts 24 poker tables and is open 24 hours a day.
