The Partouche Poker Tour has reached its 4th day, and 47 of the initial 579 entrants returned to the tables to battle it out for the right to move on to Day 5 . Juan Maceiras was the one who began the day with the largest stack of chips, but things didn’t go well for him. He bit the dust in 36th place, but he still managed to take home a €20k prize. Local player Ludovic Lacay started the day with the 4th largest stack, and he did a lot better than Maceiras. He managed to survive to Day 5, but he did so with the third smallest stack. Whether or not he manages to get something going early on Day 5 remains to be seen.
There were several other ‘name’ pros who got past the day 4 hurdle, among them several
PokerStars players.
Sam Trickett finished with a 500k+ stack. Will Failla bagged more than 700k chips at the end of day 4. Juha Helppi, the Hellraiser survived as well, albeit on a stack of only 366k chips. A total of 18 players will return to action.
The highlight of the day was the start of the €5k Heads-up Event though. 32 players coughed up the buy-in, among them players like Sorel Mizzi, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Cates, JP Kelly, Jake Cody, Alex Kravchenko and James Bord.
In other news: the APT has joined forces with boxer Manny Pacquiao, to give the public the Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event, hosted by the Pan Pacific Hotel in Malate, Philippines.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has apparently given its approval to the event, making it an APT Accredited Event.
According to Lloyd Fontillas, an APT tournament director, Manny Pacquiao’s name is certain to generate a large player turnout on December 7.
The Manny Pacquiao World Poker Event will feature a Main Event which will cost PHP 50k to enter. There will also be a PHP 11k PLO event and a PHP 500k High Roller event.
