Those of you looking for some fun in the sun to ease into the upcoming winter gloom will be glad to learn about this: PokerStars has just announced the schedule of its PCA (
PokerStars Caribbean Adventure) which takes place between January 7th and 16th.
The event will return to the Atlantis Resort and Casino and it will feature no fewer than 50 various poker tournaments, covering a wide range of buy-ins. Talking about buy-ins: for the first time, the PCA will feature a $100k high rollers event. That’s right: you’ll have to cough up 100 big ones if you want to participate in this tournament. While such buy-ins are obviously out of reach for most people, the event will certainly attract a generous starting field , as the winner’s share of the prize-pool is bound to be equally impressive.
Those who like high rollers’ events but can’t afford to play in this one, can register for the $25k High Rollers’ tournament instead.
Not to be outdone by its competitor,
Full Tilt Poker has announced the schedule of its eighteenth FTOPS too. There will be 34 events, which will award a total guaranteed prize-pool of $19 million. The FTOPS XVIII gets rolling on November 10th, a $200+$16 event with a guaranteed prize-pool of $800k its spearhead.
The top attraction of the series will of course be the Main Event, which takes place on November 21st, featuring a $3 million guarantee and buy-ins of $600+$40. Rush Poker will be featured as well, through 7 events.
Those unfortunate enough to be eliminated from the events right on the bubble, will be entered into a special freeroll, that will give them the chance to bounce back big time, by winning a seat in the FTOPS Main Event.
Coming off his EPT London win, David Vamplew won the Champion of Champions event of the UKIPT (the EPT win earned him the right to play in it), thus securing his second tournament win in as many days.
