The Poker Grapevine – PokerStars’ 95 Billionth Hand Hits

A couple of days ago we told you PokerStars’ milestone 95 billionth hand was likely to hit soon. The other day, players at a $0.08/$0.16 NL Holdem table saw an announcement pop up in the middle of the action, letting them know that they were the lucky chosen: they had just been dealt into the 95 billionth hand, and each and every one of them would pick up a minimum reward of $10k.
A one-minute break was granted to allow the railbirds to flock to the table, but one of the players got disconnected and he failed to reconnect despite the fact that the table ended up waiting for half an hour for him.
Eventually, the hand went ahead with everyone shoving all-in, with the exception of the disconnected player. The winner of the hand was RichB17, who picked up a handsome $23,920.
All the other players scored slightly over $10k. The lowest prize went to the disconnected player, MenFedlak, who picked up $10.2k.

The board fell 3d,Qd,2c,6h,5h and it looked like a player known as Domy07 who had a Q,Jo, took down the pot, but then RichB17 showed down a J,4o for the winning straight. The moderator of the hand was Lee Jones, who said that the size of the individual prizes awarded to players was also influenced by the amount of VPPs they had collected during the 50 hands leading up to the big one.
When all was said and done, Jones congratulated the winners. The prize-pool had been a $122k one, a truly impressive free giveaway indeed.
The next milestone hand which will hand out similarly impressive rewards will be the 100 billionth one, which – as Jones put it – will be even more spectacular than the current jackpot.
