How many of you have been dreaming about being able to play real money poker on your iPhones? Well all those who have will now be able to do just that: a poker site has been launched with the specific purpose of allowing players to play real money Holdem in the subway, during lunch or wherever they feel the urge to see some flops and turns.
Apple’s App store doesn’t allow real money poker, thus the creators of the site had to come up with a way around the system, which is exactly what they’ve managed to achieve. Their real money poker application runs through the browser, which means there’s nothing anyone can really do to block it. The only downside is that Americans won’t be able to play real money iPhone Holdem yet.
In other news: Russian poker pro Maxim Lykov is
PokerStars’ newest in-house pro. Lykov started playing in 2005, and unlike many others, he only took a year to turn two $40 deposits into a massive bankroll. To day, Lykov’s biggest achievement is the winning of the EPT’s Kyiv stop in 2009. He bested a field of more than 300 opponents on his way to a $468,504 cash.
If you want to play Lykov online at PokerStars, you’ll find him under the name Maxim Lykov, but you’ll have to sign up and create a PokerStars account for that.
The WPT’s 5th international stop of the season will take place in Amneville in France. The events will kick off on November 2nd and the stop will wrap up on November the 6th. The new Seven Casino’d Amneville will play host for the series.
The winner of the Main Event will receive an entry to the WPT World Championship at the Bellagio as an added prize.
