The Poker Grapevine – PokerStars Mobile Apps Launched

Offering a mobile online poker platform is pretty much a top priority for most of the big operators out there. After all, ever since mobile technology has come of age online gaming-wise, it makes more sense than anything else to let players play from anywhere at any time. PokerStars have been known as one of the top advocates of mobile online poker apps, and they have yet again confirmed their trail-blazing status. The site took advantage of the EPT’s Monte Carlo Grand Final to let some of the best poker players in the world test-run their new mobile app, offered through Pokerstars.eu and Pokerstars.fr. Italy and UK were the two markets where PokerStars’ mobile app was first launched. Last week, several other countries like Sweden, Poland, Slovenia, Finland and France joined the club.

The app is indeed a head and a shoulder above what PokerStars’ competitors have thus far come up with. The PokerStars app is compatible with iOS as well as Android based mobile phones and tablets. It offers access to all the games that the users of the PC-based client can access. The app is NOT limited to just Texas Holdem: players can play Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo too. Multi tabling is also available, up to 5 tables on iPads, which is definitely a huge asset for a mobile app.
Players can navigate among the tables by either touching the tiny icon of the software at the top of the screen or simply swiping between the screens.
Players can search for other players and tournaments through the app, they can check out hand histories, they can set filters and they can use chat. Zoom Poker also works through the app.

From a graphical perspective, the app is more than impressive. The tables are smooth, the visibility of the cards is excellent. The color-scheme is deep and stylish. The bottom line: PokerStars have pretty much set a new standard in mobile poker with this app.
