PokerStars’ players will probably be glad to learn that the 2011 SCOOP schedule has been released and that it looks juicier than ever. Starting on May 8 and lasting all the way to May 22, the series will feature 38 events, accommodating a wide range of buy-in levels. These events aren’t just for those with hefty PokerStars bankrolls at their disposal, although that crowd is catered for too. Each event features 3 buy-in levels: low, medium and high. The Main Event will feature the same format: buy-ins will be $109, $1,050 and $10,300 respectively. The guarantees will be shaped accordingly too: the low buy-in version features a $1 million guarantee, the medium buy-in one offers $3 million and the high buy-in version $5 million.
While NL Holdem will dominate the series, there will be PLO, Limit Holdem,8-Game mix and even Badugi events.
If you want to play in the SCOOP, register now and open a

The online poker world never sleeps and the sun never sets on it either. Even though all legalization attempts have been squashed in the US so far, companies – land based gambling interests like Caesar’s Entertainment no less – keep jockeying for position, in preparation for a possible and apparently inevitable online poker law. Caesar’s have just teamed up with
online poker room 888. The act has not yet been consumed, but given that the Nevada Gaming Control Board has just given it the green light, it’s pretty much a lock.
The move marks the first time that a Nevada gaming licensee has been given approval to team up with a foreign online poker company. The move will set a precious precedent, officially recognizing for the first time that online poker does exist as a legit industry and that it’s not going anywhere.
According to Caesar’s CEO Mitch Garber, the company picked 888.com on account of their existing online infrastructure and experience in marketing the game to the online public.
