The poker grapevine – Team PokerStars Online doubled in size

Always looking to expand one way or the other, PokerStars have just added 15 more players to their Team PokerStars Online. Making the cut when it comes to becoming a member of any of the Team PokerStars Pro divisions is not exactly a walk in the park as the 4,500 players who applied for the available positions found out. Eventually, the true cream of the crop was chosen, among them poker pros well known on various
poker forums and a race car driver. Mer Brit was among the players chosen to represent the brand online. People may not yet know much about Mer Brit yet, but Team
PokerStars member Randy Lew knows her well and he considers her a true inspiration when it comes to tournament poker.
Dale Phillip, Andrew Brokos and Shane Schleger were also among those admitted into the ranks of the PokerStars pros too.
The new pros will begin tweeting, blogging and chatting with their fans at the tables soon.
Shane Schleger said that while he enjoyed traveling around to play in various live poker events, grinding away at the online poker tables was his true comfort zone.
In other news: this past weekend will probably go down as one to remember for Phil Hellmuth, the ex-
UB Poker pro, known among his peers as the Poker Brat. That’s because he met up over the weekend with former President George W Bush and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in the presidential library. Exactly what the Poker Brat and the two former dignitaries talked about remains a mystery. The fact that the meeting even took place was leaked by Hellmuth himself through a picture of him with the former President and Secretary of State posted on twitter. Hellmuth said that he gave the president a signed book of his, and a signed beer can.
Tony G reacted to the news on his blog by offering a $100 reward to the person to come up with the best caption for the picture.
