PokerStars are keen on taking every opportunity to come up with some sort of promotion that delivers extra value to their players while potentially hooking a few new players while at it too. Their latest brain-child is a rather unique scheme which rewards those who guess the name of the player who will make it into Team
PokerStars Pro Online next.
The total prize-pool of the promotion is $2.5k. Those who do indeed guess the name of the next PokerStars pro, will be entered into a draw, at the end of which no fewer than 50 players will have $50 transferred to their PokerStars accounts.
Those who want to participate in the promotion, should follow Team PokerStars Online on twitter and tweet their guesses in a pre-determined format, details on which players will find at PokerStars’ website.
To make the promotion even more attractive, PokerStars will drop a clue about their next Team Online member every day.
In other news:
poker players are apparently drawn to the boxing ring like moths to a light bulb: in recent years, we’ve had no fewer than three high-profile poker showdowns: one between Lex Veldhuis and Bertrand Grospellier, another between Gus Hansen and Theo Jorgensen, and last, but certainly not least, Liv Boeree and Melissa Castello stepped into the square circle too.
Shaun Deeb is the one currently looking to land some publicity-points through a similar stunt, contemplating a fight against Richard Ashby.
Of course, the bout will also feature some pretty serious stakes: the two will duke it out for $50k.
While the entertainment value of such a bout would be quite unquestionable, Shaun Deeb has a history of changing his mind, so nothing’s etched into stone on this one yet.
