Titan Poker ECOOP V – Day 6-7

Posted by: James Carter. - Tue, 2009-12-01 00:27

Titan Poker’s ECOOP V has reached its 7th day and so far the series looks like a huge success. Various tournament guarantees are easily covered and exceeded. A single event failed to cover the guarantee so far, and even that came very close, so Titan Poker didn’t exactly lose significant money on it.
The first few events were won by Titan Poker players, some of whom had already participated in Titan Poker sponsored live events. One such player was “avalika” who finished 2nd in event #1, the $200+$15 NL Holdem one. The French player had represented Titan Poker at the ECPokerTour in Malta.

Days 6 and 7 of the ECOOP V saw the $1,000 +$60 Omaha Six max event and the $500+$35 NL Holdem one go down. The guaranteed prize-pool for the Omaha 6-max event was a $150,000 one. The 187 participants who coughed up the impressive buy-in and tourney fee, combined for a $194,000 prize-pool though, taking it almost $50,000 above the guarantee.
Player Donkaments proved to be the best at short-handed Omaha, and he was the one who took home the $52,380 first prize. He took out oohIgotdakingers heads-up, but the loser of that bout also walked away $31,040 richer. 3rd place went to RAMAVII, who pocketed $19,400. Due to the relatively low number of participants, only the top 20 places were paid, with the last ITM spot worth $2,328.

Event #7, the $500+$35 NL Holdem one, proved to be a much more popular one. 1,132 players bellied up to the tables of this poker tournament, combining for a prize-pool of $566,000. The guarantee for the event was set to $500,000.
Player Paaskebaesen took the $118,860 first prize, which was by far his largest cash of the year at iPoker. He has cashed in a total of 5 other events this year, and all of those cashes were over $1,000 ones (he’s had a few minor small change cashes as well). The $118,860 may well be the biggest one of his online poker career though.

Second place went to 3forME who took home $62,260. Third place finisher, MidnightKowby won $45,280.
There were a total of 150 paying positions in this poker tournament, the last one of them worth $622,60
