Titan Poker’s ECOOP V in full swing

The 5th edition of the European Championship of Online poker is in full Swing at Titan Poker. The series is an online equivalent of a WSOP-like monster event, featuring smaller and more accessible buy-ins and tons of participants in each tournament. Spread over 14 days, the ECOOP V will give away prizes totaling more than $4.5 million.
All the poker tournaments feature guaranteed prize-pools, which means that the worst case scenario for players is that they’ll be awarded prizes out of the guarantee only. In most cases though – as the 6 ECOOP events already behind us have proved it – the guarantee is covered with ease and the prize-pool exceeds the initial expectations.

For instance, event #1, the $200+$15 NL Holdem tournament failed to cover the guarantee, despite the massive starting field of 1,241 participants. The guarantee was there though and the $248,200 was rounded up by Titan Poker to the required $250k. The winner of the event, thanasis1982, walked away with a handsome $52,000 prize.

The second day of the series featured the $250+$18 Fixed Limit 7-Card Stud tournament. This baby managed to cover the guarantee and it even exceeded it a little so the total prize-pool grew to $52,000, instead of the $50,000 guaranteed.
The winner, player “Bleppe84” took home $14,040 on this one.

As the series was slowly building momentum, Days 3-4 saw even bigger player numbers. The $100+$9 NL Holdem Turbo R/A event – taking place on Day 3 - exceeded its guarantee by a massive $38,200, and the $750+$50 NL Holdem one (Day 4) shot to $403,500 instead of the $350,000 which Titan Poker guaranteed.

Day 5 of the series saw the $100+$9 PL Omaha event unfold, which featured a guaranteed prize-pool of $100,000. The 551 players who registered for the event, combined for a $109,000 prize-pool though, just managing to surpass the guarantee. Obviously, Omaha is more popular over at the ECOOP V than most people would think. The winner’s cut of the prize-pool, a $25,070 chunk ended up in “sp0tbot’s” possession, who managed to best theVisionary129 heads-up. Second place took $14,715, and third place (leffeborradirr) pocketed $8,720. A total of 80 places were rewarded by this poker tournament, the last paying position (80th) being worth $272.50.
