Tom Dwan bounces back, rebuilds bankroll

One of the biggest losers of the Isildur1 stint, Tom Dwan has been diligently working on building his
Full Tilt Poker bankroll back up the past few weeks. He descended to lower limits and sure enough, his winning began to pile up again. A couple of days ago, he showed up at the $50/$100 PLO tables again to add some more money to his beleaguered bankroll and to forget the trouncing Isildur1 gave him in his heyday.
His latest recovery session started on Monday night, when – following a short Christmas break – he once again felt ready to roll. He took on several players, including Browndog19, geoff7878 and OneUponAStar. He played heads-up as well as short handed and when he left, after having logged 149 hands, he was $42,902 above the red line.
Things got even better for him from that point on. He moved up to $100/$200 PLO and scored another $80,013 win, before going on a 30 minute break.
Ever the high stakes junkie, upon his return he moved right up to $300/$600 PLO, where he took on Ilari Sahamies. Soon, Hac Dang and Brian Townsend showed up too and the action began to sizzle. Townsend, who has his “red” Full Tilt pro status suspended currently, ended up the biggest loser in this session. He dropped around $725k to various players. Hac Dang was the one who took down two of the session’s largest pots. He pocketed the biggest one and the third biggest one, which was quite impressive considering the fact that all these pots were above $200k big.
Not content with the action he got at $300/$600 PLO, Dwan added a $500/$1,000 table, where he took on Ilari Sahamies heads-up. This proved to be the table where Dwan would score his biggest wins of the day. The 109 hand session the two of them played saw Dwan take down both largest pots. He eventually walked away with a $552,669 profit from this table. Together with the winnings he scored at the other tables, that had him about $730k up for the day: a pretty impressive rebound by all standards.
Despite this last minute run, Dwan remains down for the year. About $4.5 million down…
