WCOOP 2011 Set to Get Rolling

The WCOOP 2011 kicks off on September 4, which is just a couple of days away now. Players will be able to participate in 62 events, each and every one of which will feature a generous prize-pool. The online poker world has long been preparing for the WCOOP, and some US based poker professionals have admittedly moved to other countries with the specific goal to play in the WCOOP.
The series will award $30 million in prizes. Some people will see their lives changed forever, while others will partake in the thrill of being able to duke it out for a potentially life-changing trophy.

The first event of the WCOOP, which takes place on September 4, is the $215 NL Holdem 6-max event. This one offers a guaranteed prize-pool of $1 million and it’s quite accessible buy-in wise, so it will probably draw a monster starting field. Two more events will take place on the first day of the WCOOP: the $10,300 NL Holdem High Roller event (which guarantees a prize-pool of $1,250,000) and the $215 NL Holdem event (the guarantee of which is $1,250,000). Every day, there will be 2-3 new events starting up, each and every one of which offers a generous prize-pool. The smallest guarantee is $50k, but let’s face it: just about every one of those guarantees is likely to be exceeded. The WCOOP covers NL Holdem, PL Omaha, Mixed games, HORSE, Triple Draw, 2-7 single draw, Stud, Razz, PL Draw etc.
The poker festival goes out with a bang on September 25. That bang is the Main Event which costs $5,200 to enter, and which features a guaranteed prize-pool of $5 million. The winner is guaranteed a haul of $ 1 million.

Qualifying online is possible for each and every one of the events at PokerStars. The cheapest satellites cost 50 FPPs to enter. There are $1 satellites running as well.
