Weekend Online Poker Action – TCOOP Main Event

This weekend was a special one for
online poker tournament players because in addition to the regular Sunday majors, there were quite a few other possibilities to do battle for massive prizes. In light of that fact, it wasn’t surprising that for the first time in a long while, the biggest winner of the weekend wasn’t the winner of PokerStars’ Sunday Million. The $700 Main Event of the
PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker played down to its winner. The event drew a starting field of 5,060 players and it generated a prize-pool of $3,364,900. The winner of the event, a player known by the online handle “frma1103” took down a $326.8k prize, which could’ve been more, had it not been for a 7 way deal the top 7 finishers struck, which allowed each and every one of them to finish in 6 figures.
At least the biggest prize did go to the eventual winner. 7th place finisher SennaBoris79 was the one who took down the last 6-figure haul of the tournament which weighed in at $193k. The lowest 6-figure prize went to 5th place finisher thinkfast9, who collected $160k for his efforts.
The Sunday Million saw 7,686 players belly up to its tables, yet again putting the $1 million guaranteed prize-pool to shame. The resulting prize-pool was a $1,537,200 one.
This event saw a 4-way deal at the top, which left the eventual winner, Popiedejopie a $191.9k haul. All 4 players who were in the deal, finished in 6 figures. 4th place man Josh Brikis took down $125k.
The highest finishing notable (other than Brikis, of course) was James Akenhead, who took home $6.1k for his 13th place.
The Sunday Warm-Up created two 6-figure winners as well: Daniel Francis finished second in this one, for $120.1k.
