Over the past weekend, online poker tournament action was in full swing again. With all the big weekend guarantees that were scheduled, it was certain a bunch of online poker players would walk away with life-changing prizes. Sure enough, there were a whole bunch of 6-figure winners, the biggest one of whom, Caio Cesar Pimenta, took home more than a quarter million in PokerStars’ Sunday Million.
The Sunday Million attracted a field of 9,077 entrants, who combined for a more than generous prize-pool of $1,815,400. The buy-in to the event cost $200+$15, which was more than reasonable considering the stakes involved. 3 players took home 6-figure loot piles, including winner caio_pimenta who scored a $259,243 payday. He bested KillerMendez heads-up. The second place finisher pocketed $190,617.
Third place went to floriverboy, and it was good for a $135,156 prize. Daniel Drescher was the highest finishing “name” pro. He ended up in 17th place, dragging a $4,538 reward for his efforts.
The Sunday Warm-up attracted 4,628 players. This
poker tournament saw a three way deal at the top which left an additional $10,000 for the winner. MR Shanish came out on top eventually, and pocketed the $116,468 prize. Angevert finished second for $106,468, and $saxo$ finished 3rd for the same $106,468 sum.
The prize-pool was a $925,600 one, and the buy-in was $200+$15.
PokerStars’ Sunday 500 did not generate a 6-figure winner, but the $516,500 prize-pool was large enough to offer liutas.a, the winner, a $89,147 prize.
The $1 million Turbo Takedown didn’t result in a 6-figure winner either, but viebu, who ended up taking the top spot, got an Audi TT RS sports-car on top of the $60,000 prize he pocketed.
