Weekend tournament action

This past weekend, the online poker tourney action was as hot as ever. All the
major online poker rooms pulled out their flagship events and players were out in droves looking for a share of the generous prize-pools on display.
Whatever happens, PokerStars’ Sunday Million remains the biggest earner for top finishers. Last weekend, it was Jose “papadelpoker” De Le Guardia’s turn to take home some loot, and what a hot score it was: he didn’t cut any sorts of deals. He went for all the marbles and succeeded.
The $200+$15 event attracted an impressive field of 8,587 entrants. Papadelpoker walked away with the biggest share of a $1,717,400 prize-pool, namely with $252,633. He bested jacobsen01 heads-up for the win, but don’t shed any tears for the second place man either: he took home $184,620 too, which is not too shabby for a loser at all. IveGotToejam (What have you got?) finished third, earning a more than respectable $128,805.
From among the notables, Tyler Cornell finished in 12th place for $9,102.
The Sunday Warmup attracted a much smaller field. The buy-in was the same but only 4,572 players showed up for this one. The prize-pool topped up at $914,400, falling just short of the 1 million mark.
A three way deal occurred at the top, with player crochepif taking home the gold eventually. He won $125,000. RobCurl finished 2nd for $100,209 and over.be finished 3rd for the same amount. According to the deal, the winner would get an extra $10,000.
Bjorn Erick Glenne was the top “name” player. He finished 16th for $2,743.
The Sunday 500 only saw 977 players, and it ended up in a 4-way deal, with TehPwneD99 walking away with the win and the $51,495 that came with it.
Full Tilt Poker’s $750,000 Gtd was the other heavy-weight event of the weekend. No fewer than 4,440 players showed up for this one, coughing up the $200+$16 buy-in. This way, the prize-pool surpassed the guarantee by a large margin.
$880,000 was collected and the event ended in a 3-way deal. Player Roddiass took home the gold, topping it off with a $114,743 prize. Zavor4ik who finished 2nd, also scored a 6-figure prize of $107,757.
Christina Lindley finished 20th in this event, for a $3,285 payday.
