With Isildur1 out of the way, Hansen becomes the new target

Online poker sharks have an excellent nose for fish. It is partly the reason why they become sharks in the first-place. The nosebleed stakes at Full Tilt Poker have been transformed into a genuine fish hunt lately, where all the hungry sharks follow in the wake of a fish who is most likely to give his money away. Sharks themselves are not immune to becoming fish. The shark who gets singled out by Lady Luck and keeps losing for a while, becomes the new fish and all the other sharks turn on him as soon as they smell weakness.
As of late, the role of fish at the nosebleed
stakes at Full Tilt poker has been fulfilled by Swedish mystery player Isildur1. Though the Swede was by no means easy prey, and he managed to send several regulars to the brink of despair, he proved to be a reliable source of revenue for some of the sharks. Sahamies made a lot of money off him, not to mention Patrik Antonius and his latest nemesis, Brian Hastings. After he dropped about 3.2 million to Hastings on Tuesday, Isildur1 disappeared to lick his wounds. That left Gus Hansen as the new target and the action moved from the PLO tables to the 7-game ones during the chase.
A whole bunch of high stakes regulars followed Hansen to the mixed games tables. Sahamies, Chau Giang, Tom Dwan, Brian Townsend, Matt Hawrilenko, David Benyamine and John Juanda all saw action against Hansen on the 10th, some of them logging wins while others dropped money, though the swings were nowhere near as big as the Isildur1 induced ones.
Peculiarly enough, Hansen didn’t end this session under the red line. As a matter of fact, he walked away with about $220k in profits, behind Antonius who won around $510k and Giang who saw a $245k profit.
The money that these guys took home came from Matt Hawrilenko, Ilari Sahamies and Brian Townsend. Hawrilenko was by far the biggest loser of the night. He dropped around $432k. Sahamies’ losing streak continued as he finished this session with the second biggest loss: a 395k slip. Townsend dropped more than $300k too, and Dwan, who had been largely responsible for Isildur1’s wins, lost around $150k.
