WSOP Main Event - Day 3

Day 3 of the 2010 WSOP’s Main Event saw all the remaining survivors belly up to the tables together, not separated by distinct A and B flights. James Carroll, one of the players who’d earned their seats through
PokerStars, was the one who finished the day with the largest chip stack. Johnny Chan, the multiple Main Event Champion managed to stay within the top 10 as well. PokerStars’ Johnny Lodden did well too.
It’s needless to say Johnny Chan’s presence near the top ranks is the story of the 2010 Big Dance so far. I personally consider Chan a three-times bracelet winner, as he took the gold down twice in a row, in 1987 and 1988 and then got denied by
UltimateBet Pro Phil Hellmuth heads-up in 1999. Surely though, the performance alone of getting back to the top 2 for a third year in a row, deserves more credit than proclaiming the man a two-times winner.
20 years later, Chan is once again in the books for the title, and don’t let his top 10 finish fool you: the guy led the action for most of day 3.
The Mizrachis’ represent another interesting take on the
WSOP Main Event. These guys are like the Red Army: they’re numerous, they tread right through the field and one can barely find a final table or post money-bubble stage without a Mizrachi in it. All 4 of them are still in contention in the Main Event. Robert is the one spearheading the Mizrachi invasion, with a stack of 342,800 chips. Patt Ricci was one of his most notorious victims. Mizrachi busted Ricci on an A,J vs K,J match-up after both of them landed a pair of Js on the flop.
Erick Seidel, Chris Moneymaker and Jennifer Harman all bit the dust on day 3.
