The online poker weekend – close call for Lily Mizrachi

The poker tournament action was again if full swing over the weekend at all the major online poker rooms. Several name players made it deep in various events, among them Lily Mizrachi who nearly won Full Tilt Poker’s $1 million GTD. The biggest prize of the weekend went to the winner of PokerStars’ Sunday Million again. 8,486 players coughed up the $200+$15 buy-in, creating a prize-pool of $1,697,200, once again handily covering the guarantee. The winner, Rasmus Sibast walked away with the lion’s share of that money, namely $249,662. Second place man nineallday00 had a nice payday too. He took home $182,449. Third-place finisher STREWO ended up with a 6-figure profit as well. He won $127,290. Notable finishes were those of Jeff Sharkey and Michael Benvenuti, who ended up in 24th and in 28th places respectively.

The Sunday Warm-Up created 2 6-figure winners as well. One was the winner of the event, Dsavo, who took home $127,039. The other was 5th place finisher James Broom, who won $109,260, thanks to his negotiating skills and to the 5-way deal that the top players agreed on.
4,732 players showed up for this one, creating a prize-pool of $946,400.
None of the other weekend tourneys managed to crack the $100k mark as far as individual prizes were concerned, though the Sunday 500 came close, by giving winner Tomif gsd $92,905.

The biggest story of the weekend was Lily Mizrachi’s performance over at Full Tilt Poker though. The $1 Million Guarantee created a nice layover. The 2,092 entrants combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $1,255,200. Missgrinder finished second behind dlanger610, to win $141,837. The winner walked away with $230,956.
There were no other 6-figure winners in the event. Notable finishes were those of Kurt Fitzgerald and Sebastian Saffari, who finished in 10th and in 12th places respectively.
