Hit hard by the Black Friday indictments, Absolute Poker and UB have had their funds blocked in various offshore accounts by the DoJ. Due to that fact, combined with the general lack of reliability of the two Cereus sites, we no longer recommend that you deposit and play at Absolute Poker and UB. We can no longer guarantee the safety of player deposits headed their way.
If you’re interested in playing on similar caliber sites, we recommend Bodog and bwin poker.

Absolute Poker Promotion: Super Saturday - $325K guaranteed prize pool

In November last year, Absolute Poker decided to channel more juice into its Saturday tourney schedule, thus the Super Saturday was born, featuring $325,000 in guaranteed prizes. This is not one particular tournament we’re talking about, the infusion of money concerns Absolute Poker’s Saturday tournament schedule as a whole.

On the first Saturday of every month, Absolute Poker adds money to a few of its existing tournaments (including its 150K guaranteed one) and features two new tournaments for some pretty hefty prize-pools.

The first of Super Saturday’s “big three” is the warm-up tournament featuring $25,000 in guaranteed prizes. Now that looks like some pretty exhausting warm-up to me. The main event of the day, Absolute Poker’s $150K guaranteed signature weekly gets a huge $100K boost, and thus the prize-pool will reach $250K. I once again need to iterate an observation I’ve made when reviewing and analyzing poker rooms: the bigger the poker room, the bigger the prize-pool of its weekly guaranteed. PokerStars reigns supreme in that respect, Party Poker still looks solid too, and now, with their Super Saturday, Absolute Poker isn’t lagging far behind either.
The direct buy-in for the main event is $500+$30, but there are lower buy-in qualifiers running for it too. The starting stack has been set to 5,000 chips, and the winner of the tourney is guaranteed to pocket $34,500, which is the worst case scenario. The more participants there are, the bigger the first prize (and all ITM prizes) will be.

The buy-ins for the big $150K (or $250K on Super Saturdays), range from $15+$0, to $70+$6. The cheapest qualifiers offer one guaranteed seat, while the $50+$0 ones offer 2 or even 3. Qualifiers are also available for 4,000 Absolute Poker Points.

The day has one more high-rolling surprise left for the big-money Holdem fanatic: If you play in both above mentioned Super Saturday tourneys and still don’t get your fill, the $50K “Second Chance” guaranteed is for you.
