DoJ hires Garden City Group as Full Tilt Claims Administrator

Even though European players have long recovered the funds stuck at Full Tilt Poker after Black Friday, US-based players, who had made up the vast majority of the operator’s player-base, still haven't seen a single cent of their monies returned. The Department of Justice has struck a deal with PokerStars which allowed Full Tilt Poker to be re-launched, and which essentially settled the issue of player funds. The Department of Justice had seized a variety of funds from Full Tilt Poker way before the Black Friday indictments were handed out, and some even afterwards. US-based players would be repaid from these monies. The only problem thus far was however that due to the meticulous and rather intricate nature of the procedure, not much progress has been made.
The other day however, the DoJ has finally made an announcement regarding a step, which may well signal the beginning of the repayment process.
According to the DoJ, the Garden City Group has been hired to act as claims administrator, tasked with overseeing the repayment procedure.

According to US attorney Preet Bharara, who was behind the Black Friday indictments too, the Garden City Group brings an unparalleled track record to the table, having been involved in some of the most intricate settlements in the country. The GCG is essentially a bankruptcy administration company, among the best in the trade, which is a perfect fit since the nature of the settlement here does indeed call for bankruptcy administration skills.
The GCG has already made its first move towards beginning the settlement process, by setting up www.FullTiltPokerClaims.com, where victims of the biggest online poker fraud ever could file their claims for compensation. Given the legally murky nature of the game of online poker in the US though, some of the victims may be hesitant to act.
