Isildur1’s identity to be disclosed today?

According to various rumors (and in the poker world such rumors should never be shrugged off), online poker’s famous yet utterly unknown wild-child, Swedish mystery man Isildur1, is about to reveal his true identity. Being nothing more than a weird moniker has been part of the Swede’s appeal for quite some time, but the truth is that ever since he signed with PokerStars, losing his aura of mystery has been in the books.
Isildur1 will apparently reveal himself at the start of
PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, in which, as a sponsored pro, he will obviously play. Unless he decides to wear a mask, finally showing his face will be a practical option as well. The announcement will apparently be made during a press conference held at the Atlantis Resort.
For years, people have speculated who Isildur1 was and given the affinity of the
poker community for various prop bets, it is almost certain that huge amounts of money will change hands as soon as the real identity of PokerStars
’ newest acquisition is revealed. The most reasonable suspicion to this day is that Isildur1 is in fact Viktor Blom, a Swedish poker professional whose ultra-aggressive style of play characterized by large swings is well in line with what Isildur1 became known for at the online tables.
2009 was definitely Isildur1’s breakout year, one that he’s never really managed to match since. Having appeared virtually out of nowhere, Isildur1 locked horns with some of the biggest names at
Full Tilt Poker. He delivered a crushing blow to Tom Dwan, crippling him and sending him down the limits to regroup. He traded blows with Patrik Antonius and with Phil Ivey too, and he eventually dropped his entire bankroll to the Cardrunners team of Townsend, Hastings and Cole. After the PCA Main Event, Isildur1 may take on Tony G in a SuperStars Showdown rematch.
