Ladbrokes Moves to iPoker

Ladbrokes, one of the top land-based and online sportsbooks and online gaming operators have announced the other day that they would move their poker operation from the MPN network to iPoker.
Although the exact time-table of the move hasn’t yet been set, Ladbrokes intend to complete the multi-stage move as soon as possible. The first stage of the cooperation between Ladbrokes and Playtech will see the introduction of a “Vegas” button at Ladbrokes’ site, which will give players access to some of Playtech’s casino games. According to Playtech CEO Mor Weizer, his company is in a perfect position to deliver material growth to Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes’ move will definitely be a blow to MPN because the online poker operation is currently the largest skin of the network. While as it is, MPN is the 10th largest online poker network, iPoker is the 4th, so the move there will definitely be a huge quality jump for Ladbrokes, the brand strength of which, combined with the new traffic opportunities offered by Playtech will create a great deal of potential indeed.
The only poker operators currently bigger than iPoker are PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and PartyPoker.

Ladbrokes shares skyrocketed at the news of the iPoker move, reaching their five-year high.
Indeed, lately Ladbrokes have pretty much slid off the online poker map, especially after the UIGEA and the various other legal restrictions enacted in several parts of the world. They were slowly being squeezed into a corner, but teaming up with Playtech will now give them the chance to break out of the rut. The addition of Ladbrokes will certainly prove to be a valuable asset for the iPoker network too. Already host to sites like Winner Poker, William Hill and Titan Poker, iPoker will probably add Ladbrokes to their 1st tier as well.
