March 1st weekend online poker report

Last Sunday was an extremely action-filled day in the world of online poker. PokerStars’ Sunday million saw no fewer than 4 players take home 6-digit winnings, mainly due to a chop the final 4 remaining players had agreed on.
Full Tilt’s $750,000 guaranteed has also seen a winner take home $147,911.

The Sunday Million, by far the most generous weekend MTT, saw its guaranteed prize-pool almost doubled as the 8,664 entrants posted a massive $1,732,800 prize-pool.
The final table had Vincent Eley bust out first, at the hands of John Lane. Both players arrived to the final table on relatively short-stacks, and Eley’s was thus added to Lane’s to offer him a better shot at survival. Unfortunately for Lane though, his tournament ended soon too. He was eliminated in 8th place by IRENE666.
The following player to head to the rail was Princess480. IRENE666 was eliminated next by jbrown04, followed to the rail by WlkRambo.
With 4 players remaining in contention, a deal was struck. They distributed the remaining prize-money in a directly proportional manner with the stacks they held, and they agreed that the winner would receive an extra $30,000. All 4 of them got their prizes secured and the game continued. The player to take down the $30k became StefanProdan, who thus earned $168,291 in total.

Full Tilt’s $750,000 GTD saw 4,188 players register, a number large enough to make the guarantee and even to add some extra money on top of it. This way, the prize-pool was set to $837,600.
No deals were struck in this event as the winner, Jay Kinkade, took home $147,911. He held the chip lead going into the final table and managed to preserve his advantage all the way. Second place went to daPHUNNIEman yielding a prize of $89,539.

In other high stakes tournament action, the weekend saw player utreg walk away with $101,648 from Full Tilt’s Sunday Brawl. The Sunday Mulligan’s first prize went to ferragamoash, who earned $58,344 this way.

PokerStars’ Sunday Warmup gave player “frtk” more than $114,000. The Sunday 500 was won by Kenny Weinstein who took down a little over $93.5k.

Bodog’s $100,000 GTD saw a much more modest starting field. Only 665 players registered, and the first place ended up in possession of KrazyKiddo, who took home $23,600.
