Last week saw the high stakes online poker laurels divided rather equally between the two leading online poker rooms: Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. Full Tilt Poker saw the return of Cadillac1944, who hasn’t yet played this year. At PokerStars, a 6-handed game developed in which Scott Palmer and Phil Galfond saw action too.
Besides the return of Cadillac1944,
Full Tilt Poker was the scene of another notorious and in the same time mysterious player’s return: martonas.
Cadillac1944 took on Alexey Makarov at the $300/$600 PLO tables. He ended up dropping around $400k to the Russian, not exactly the start he was likely hoping for.
The biggest pot of the Makarov – Cadillac1944 session was a $172k monster which ended up in the Russian’s possession, after his flush and then his wheel secured both sides of the pot on a turn and river which were run twice.
Over at
PokerStars, the $100/$200 PLO tables saw some pretty exciting 6-handed action. Makarov was involved in this too, together with Phil Galfond, Scott Palmer, ‘compris’ and ‘Zypherin’.
The game – which lasted for 2,000 hands – favored ‘compris’ who walked away with an impressive profit of $460k at the end of it.
The largest pot that ‘compris’ managed to take down was a $127,540 one. 3 players took part in the hand, compris, Palmer and Makarov. The money went into the middle after the flop, which gave compris a top two pair. The turn changed nothing and the river gave him a full house to lock up the pot for him.
Later in the session, another 3-handed monster pot developed, with Galfond, Zypherin and Seldar182 involved. This one ended up in Zypherin’s possession after he made a nut straight on the turn.
Alexey Makarov finished the week as the biggest winner, having logged $372k in profits. Scott Palmer and Daniel Cates made the winners’ list too.
