Online poker action – Full Tilt Poker’s Monday Million

Large scale online tournament action usually takes place over the weekends, but this week, things were different on account of Full Tilt Poker’s Monday Million. Player “asforr” won the event, taking home a $253k reward. Several name players finished deep and there were no deals made at the top to distort the planned distribution of the prize-pool.
The Monday Million featured quite a steep buy-in. At $1,000+$60, not everyone could afford to take part in it, but it managed to attract a more than decent starting field nonetheless. 1,126 players coughed up the money, giving birth to a $1,126,000 prize-pool, handily surpassing the $1 million guarantee.
Asforr bested Tom Middleton for the win. Middleton pocketed $160k for his efforts. Aleh Plauski finished 3rd, scoring a $118k haul. Carter Swidler and Joseph Chaplin finished 4th and 5th respectively. None of them reached 6 figures through.
Due to the size of the buy-in, the field was full of notables. Luke Staudenmaier, Zach Clark and Mark McNeill finished in the top 10 as well. Hafiz Khan finished in the money too: he picked up $4,1k for his 24th place.

The action was hot in other events too and with the FTOPS in full swing, there were plenty of other opportunities out there. Event #27 featured a prize-pool of nearly $1 million. This one saw a 3-way deal at the top, with most of the money going to the eventual 2nd place finisher badboypony. The top prize was $135k. The winner, dmb2890, “only” pocketed $122k. 3rd place man, The Great Pike finished in 6-figures too: he picked up $111k for his efforts.
There were plenty of high-finishing notables in this event too: Jordan Young finished 4th, for a $55k haul. Jimme Guinther ended up in 7th place for an $18k reward.

The biggest event during this period at PokerStars was the Super Tuesday. Its winner, KAMKAM, took home $77.5k.
