Online poker action – Hansen rolls as Bleznick slides

The nosebleed stakes action was once again rolling during the week at Full Tilt Poker. All the usual protagonists were there, including some of last week’s biggest winners. Of these guys, only Gus Hansen managed to stay on top of his game and to finish with a profit yet again. The Great Dane won around $570k through 8 sessions. Jared Bleznich on the other hand dropped money and so did Daniel Cates.
Bleznick’s losses amounted to about $111k, while Cates dropped a little more.
Ironically, the largest pot of the week went down between the two losers. Bleznick and Cates locked horns at the $300/$600 PLO tables. The two players exchanged bets, raises and re-raises past a flop of Kd,7d,Qs. The 9c fell on the turn and the chips went into the middle as both players held a K-high straight. The river card was run twice. The first time, the Kh gave both players the same hand for the split. The second time, the 10s gave Bleznich a better straight and thus he ended up with three quarters of the pot.
Bleznick didn’t settle for the action
Full Tilt Poker had to offer him. On Wednesday, he showed up at
PokerStars’ $200/$400 PLO tables, where he took on MrSweets28. The largest pot of the confrontation was a $114k one, which ended up in MrSweets28’s pockets.
On Thursday, it was Daniel Cates’ turn to drop some money to a virtual unknown. He took on Lindqvro at the $25/$50 heads-up PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker. There weren’t really any 6-figure pots in this session, but that didn’t prevent Cates from dropping around $300k to the Swede.
The largest pot tipped the scale at $88k, and – needless to say – it found its way into Lindqvro’s pockets in its entirety, even though the river card was run twice.
Besides Gus Hansen, Andreas Torbergsen and rumprammer made the winners’ list too.
