Online poker action – Sorel Mizzi wins Sunday Warm-up

The online poker action was pretty hot across the board over the weekend, despite the multitude of live events running around the country. Several “name” pros surfaced in the high-buy-in weekend events, many of them making deep runs and one of them – Sorel Mizzi – climbing to the highest step of the podium in the Sunday Warm-up at
PokerStars.
The Sunday Million managed to attract an impressive starting-field yet again, covering its guarantee and awarding a massive $246k prize to the winner. 8,241 players coughed up the $21 buy-in to combine for a total prize-pool of $1,642,800. There were no deals at the top of the ranks in this
poker tournament, the winner, ramondemon77 walking away with the full haul after he bested Parias heads-up. Ari Engel finished 7th. Other notable finishes were those of Gavin Cochrane and Cliff Josephy (16th and 28th places respectively).
The Sunday Warm-up attracted a starting field of 4,786 entrants, who combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $957,200. This bunch was a selfish one as well: no deals were made at the top and the winner – Sorel Mizzi – took home $149,737.
John Mckoeur finished 2nd for a $111,513 reward.
Carter Gill finished 13th and Joe Cappuccio ended up in 14th place.
Full Tilt Poker’s $750k guaranteed managed to finally cover its prize-pool too. The 3,839 participants combined buy-ins for a pool of $767,800. This poker tournament saw a three way deal at the top, which left the winner – EatMyBluff8 – with $100,972. The other two players involved in the deal were Machinguer and Blazed3X1, who took home $90.3k and $80.4k respectively.
Notable finishes were those of Bryn Kenney and Ara Melikian.
Ultimate Bet’s $200k guaranteed was won by Derric Haynie, who took home $44.9k for his efforts. Tony Gargano finished 6th for $8.9k.
