Online poker tournament action - the midweek report

So you thought high buy-in, high-prize pool online poker tournament action only took place on weekends… well, you were wrong. Much like the city, the online poker world never sleeps. There's always something going on, and whenever you think there is a lull in the action, all you really need to do is to dig a little deeper to uncover some excitement.
While the tournament scene has been bustling indeed this week, the prize pools and the individual prizes were of course not as big as the ones handed out over the weekend. The biggest winner of the week so far was husseini6 who won Full Tilt Poker‘s $1k Monday for a $90,500 haul. David Hilton won PokerStars’ Super Tuesday and Chris Hunichen took down UB’s $150k guaranteed.

The biggest event of the early week, Full Tilt Poker’s $1k Monday, attracted a starting field of 362 players. These guys combined buy-ins for a prize pool of $362,500. The event cost $1,060 to enter.
As said above, husseini6 walked away with the win, followed by Steve Burkholder in 2nd place. Burkholder picked up $57,920 for his efforts. Notable finishes were those of Paul Volpe and Thayer Rasmussen, who finished in 12th and 20th places respectively.

PokerStars’ Super Tuesday featured a larger buy-in, a larger starting field and consequently a larger prize pool as well. Despite all that, the winner, David Hilton, only walked away with a $75,426 prize. A three-way deal at the top was responsible for the lower than expected payout for the winner.
Another event to see a deal at the top was PokerStars’ $320 Wednesday. The event attracted a starting field of 977 players who combined buy-ins for a prize pool of $293,100. youreamelon got the goods in this one, taking home $48,361.
