Online poker weekend – Anthony Gregg wins Sunday Million

Last weekend was the scene of many a great sporting event, but the high prize-pool weekend online poker guarantees didn’t fail to attract thousands upon thousands of players. Several such players became 6-figure winners.
Responsible for the most radical twists in life that such 6-figure cashes usually mean for their beneficiaries, was Full Tilt Poker this time around.
The biggest winner of the weekend was Anthony Gregg, the winner of Full Tilt’s $1.5 Million Guarantee. The flagship weekend tournament proved to be extremely successful this time around, attracting a starting field of 14,409 players, and generating an out of this world prize-pool of $2,881,800.
The winner, who made no deals on his way to the top, pocketed $439,877. Second place man StepRightUp won $295,384. Hiren Patel finished 3rd for a $208,930 reward. Two more players finished in 6 figures: 4th place man Nick Mitchell ($149k) and 5th place finisher Matt Vengrin ($106k).
A whole bunch of name pros took part in this poker tournament, and many of them managed to make the money too.

Pokerstars’ Sunday Million attracted an extremely pro-heavy starting field as well. The 8,994 entrants combined buy-ins for a prize-pool of $1,798,800 handily covering the guarantee yet again. This prize-pool made it possible for no fewer than 3 players to take home 6-figure hauls. It is also part of the truth though that there was a 3-way deal made at the top. Anthony Gregg won this one, taking down the $195k top prize. Ryan Daut finished second for $208,668 and binhoeiji rounded up the top three, taking home $176k.

Full Tilt Poker’s Sunday Brawl was responsible for 4 more 6-figure winners. The event which drew a starting field of 8,766, offered a prize-pool of $1,753,200. This event saw a 2-way deal at the top between David Sonelin and eventual winner Aaron Been. Second place man Sonelin took down the biggest prize which weighed in at $282k.
