Online poker weekend report

The online poker world never rests, and it is especially busy during weekends. This past weekend hasn’t been an exception either. Full Tilt Poker’s $750,000 Guarantee attracted a huge crowd of 3,882, which meant that the winner’s prize climbed to a dizzying $137,461.62. Several live and online poker celebrities took part in the event, and many of them finished close to the final table. Bjorn-Erik Glenne finished in 18th, Shane Schleger in 22nd. The final table bubble boy was Jordan Morgan. The real money was obviously focused within the top 10, as Jordan Morgan only earned $7,453.44 for his 10th place, which is obviously something of a disappointment considering the size of the first place prize.

Player ‘jolymumbo’ was the first to be ejected from the final table. His A,3 got busted by brin1285’s A,6 which hit a nut flush on the river. The $10,403.76 prize was a nice consolation though.
The other final table short stack, DUMBO DUMBO was the next player to head to the rail. AAAA Quads was the 7th place finisher, followed to the rail by brin1285.

Chris Williams got all-in on his A,6 only to be called by POCKET FIVE with Ah,10h. Both players hit a pair of Aces on the board, but POCKET FIVE’s better kicker held up and bounced Williams in 5th.
Brendon Rubie fell to Keith Ferrara next, in a 7,7 vs Ac,10c match-up. The board obviously brought another Ace to make Ferrara’s hand and to end Rubie’s day.
POCKET FIVE was bounced by the same Keith Ferrara next who was going on a sort of a killing spree.
The heads-up stage began with Ferrara holding a firm chip lead over SCNoodle. SCNoodle successfully chipped away at that lead though and soon turned the tables on Ferrara. The final hand was an A,5 vs A,Q match-up, with the board delivering but a bunch of bricks to give SCNoodle the win and the $137k prize.

In other high buy-in weekend tournament action, FULLMIKETILT won the $92k top prize of Full Tilt’s Sunday Brawl, king silas took down the $56k offered by the Sunday Mulligan, and Gabegnagare took home the $105k which constituted the winner’s share of PokerStars’ $750,000 GTD.
