Online poker weekend – tables quiet once again

The online poker industry is certainly paying a dear price for the WSOP these weeks. For the second consecutive week, the major weekend online poker GTDs saw a relative shortage of players and many of them failed to cover their guarantees. Despite all the adversity though, 7 players were still able to log 6-figure profits over the weekend. Adam Levy was one of them. He apparently took a break from the WSOP action and finished second in Full Tilt Poker’s $750k Gtd to pocket a prize of $102k. Some people apparently can’t help winning big all the time…
PokerStars’ Sunday Million, by far the biggest online poker tournament of the weekend, saw 7,309 players belly up to its tables, a number far below what the tourney had gotten us used to over the last few months.
The prize-pool was $1.5 million. This event alone was responsible for creating 3 6-figure winners. Following a three-way deal at the top, Bear4arms walked away with the win, pocketing $204,342. General Tso0 finished second for $159,103 and APowers1968 ended up in 3rd, for a $147,109 payday.
Steve Brashak finished 8th for $18k.

The Sunday Warm-up attracted 3,965 players and it became responsible for creating 2 6-figure winners as a result of a two-way deal at the top. Bullyon won the event for a $114,120 prize. Trionojnika finished second for $103,161. A notable finish was that of Kyle Zartman, who picked up $25.7k for his 6th place.

The Sunday 500 failed to cover its guarantee too. The $500+$30 event only attracted 944 players. The top runners of the field would share a prize-pool of $500k. No deals were made in this event, but there were no 6-figure winners either. Troster16 walked away with the win at the end of the day, taking home $90k. Joao Matthias Baumgarten finished 4th, for $36k.

Full Tilt Poker
’s $750k Guarantee was another major weekend poker tournament which yielded more than one 6-figure winner. Following a deal at the top, MrsNights and Adam Levy both took home more than decent profits. MrsNight won the tournament, taking down the $111,018 top prize. Levy took home more than $102k himself. Brent Hanks finished 3rd, for $52,500.

Full Tilt’s Sunday Brawl came tantalizingly close to creating a 6-figure winner too. Arxigos won the event, taking home $99,935.50.
