The weekend proved to be an especially lucrative period for the 8 players who walked away with 6-figure prizes from the various high prize-pool weekend guarantees. The top winner of the weekend was yet again the winner of
PokerStars’ Sunday Million, ettiezzi, who took home $229k for his efforts.
The Sunday Million attracted a starting field of 8,514 participants, who combined buy-ins to generate a $1,702,800 prize-pool, handily covering the guarantee.
As said, the top prize went to ettiezzi, but the event generated two more 6-figure winners: second place man artohme walked away with $204k. Third place man abe_AA64 took home $127k for his efforts.
The Sunday Warm-Up was also responsible for 2 6-figure winners. 26071985 took the lion’s share of the $943,600 prize-pool. He pocketed a little over $148k. Second place man, P1ngPoNgPr0 won $109.9k. The starting field was rather impressive: 4,718 players coughed up the $200+$15 buy-in for the event.
There were no other 6-figure winners at PokerStars but plenty of other guys walked away with impressive prizes. Stanman420 won the Sunday 500 for a $88,112. The Sunday Second Chance went to David Gomez, who took home $51,961.
The other event responsible for 2 six-figure profits was
Full Tilt Poker’s $750k Guarantee. 4,213 players showed up for this one, generating a prize-pool of $842,600 covering the guarantee (which is quite a remarkable accomplishment, given that the $750k has a habit of falling short). The top 2 finishers struck a deal, therefore the biggest prize of $125k went to second place man Cobalt56. The eventual winner, ravagee, walked away with $113,868.
The Sunday Brawl was the scene of another 6-figure performance. Keith Ferrera was the winner, taking down $106,209. He bested Bahbak Oboodi heads-up.
The 2,616 players who bought into this event, created a prize-pool of $523,200.
