Last weekend saw some hectic online poker tournament action again. All the big flagship guarantees covered their guarantees and attracted plenty of players. Several players ended the week by taking down 6-figure prizes. Once again, the biggest winner was the winner of
PokerStars’ Sunday Million. Following a two-way deal at the top, Mr. Brizza won the big one, taking home $243,843. The $200+$15 buy-in event attracted a starting field of 9,235 players. The resulting prize-pool was a $1,847,000 one, the lion’s share of which ended up in Mr Brizza’s possession.
Allaces43 finished second, picking up $213,813 for his efforts. Renassence finished 3rd, for $137,509. Anthony Spinella was the only notable finisher. He ended up in 27th place, for a $3,971 reward.
The Sunday Warmup generated a $939,000 prize-pool. The 4,695 starters contributed $215 each, but only one would walk away with the top prize.
TheConcept79 won, taking home $147,310, but he would not be the only 6-figure winner. Weriol picked up $109,393 for his second place finish.
The Sunday 500 attracted fewer players on account of the steeper buy-in. The 1,058 participants combined for a prize pool of $529,000. The biggest share of that money ended up in Jason Koon’s possession. He took home $91,305 for his win. He was followed by Kyle Huffman in second place.
Jim Kilarjian finished 12th, for $4,708.
As the high buy-in
poker tournament action raged at PokerStars,
Full Tilt Poker’s $1 million guaranteed kicked off too. Having drawn 2,218 entrants, the event generated a $1,109,000 prize-pool. No deals were struck in this event, as Jeremy Menard took down the $180,123 top prize. Issalloverbeby finished 2nd for $148,196. Notable finishes were those of Chris Dombrowski and Ryan Karp, who finished in 10th and 14th places respectively.
Though a much more modest event, the Sunday Brawl still resulted in another 6-figure winner walking away with the goods. Deuceballz was the lucky player who took down the lion’s share of the prize-pool at $102,839. ColdNuts99 finished second. Bahbak Oboodi and Dan Kelly finished in 25th and 45th places respectively.
The $50+$5 MiniFTOPS Main Event also took place over the weekend. This poker tournament saw a 5-way deal at the top, at the end of which, eventual 4th place finisher, DarkMemoria secured the biggest prize, weighing in at $102,536.
