A whole bunch of six-figure winners were born over the past weekend too, thanks to the high buy-in tournament action that takes place every Saturday-Sunday. The biggest winner of the weekend was yet again the winner of
PokerStars’ Sunday Million. Benji79 walked away with $255,282, after besting Loxagos heads-up. The event attracted a starting field of 8,677 players, who combined buy-ins to generate a total prize-pool of $1,735,400, well enough to cover the guarantee and to provide a large overlay as well.
No deals were made among the top finishers. Second place man Loxagos finished in six figures too, collecting $186,555 for his efforts. The third player to shoot past the 6-figure mark was Pendos90, who picked up $130,155 for his 3rd place.
Notable finishes in the Sunday Million were those of Chris Odle (12th place) and James Carroll (17th).
The Sunday Warm Up was responsible for three 6-figure winners as well, thanks to a deal at the top. The eventual winner, marlin17, took home the biggest prize which weighed in at $127,568. Second place man RikTee took down a little over $100k and so did third place finisher Dr Yuba.
Notables to finish high in this one were Alvaro Ballesteros, who ended up in 22nd and Calvin Anderson (who finished 25th).
Full Tilt Poker’s $1 Million Guarantee, a tournament featuring $600+$40 buy-ins, attracted a starting field of 1,969 entrants. The prize-pool shot over the guarantee by a massive $181,400. No fewer than three 6-figure winners were born in this event too, thanks again to a 3-way deal at the top. The three lucky players were KiKaMo, who won the event for a top prize of $176k, elitesrush, who pocketed $136k for his second place and TheoWalcott14, who won $125k for his 3rd place finish.
Ross Myers (12th) was the highest finishing name player. John Dolan finished in 20th place.
