The Online Poker Weekend – Keven Stammen among Winners

The
online poker weekend was a busy time, despite all the ongoing live events which inevitably drew quite a number of “name” players as well as wannabes away from the online tables.
PokerStars’ usual Sunday majors saw their guarantees blown to bits yet again in the usual manner, while the $1 million Main Event of the MiniFTOPS at
Full Tilt Poker added a little bit of extra salt and pepper to the regular concoction.
Despite the fact that the majority of “name” players were indeed playing in the
EPT’s Monaco Grand Final, or the WPT’s Montreal event, plenty of them graced the online tournament tables with their presence, and several of them managed to make deep runs. One such player was Keven Stammen, who almost made it all the way in the biggest event of the weekend, the Sunday Million.
The Sunday Million saw a starting field of 7,274 players belly up to its virtual tables, generating a prize-pool of $1,454,800, leaving the $1 million original guarantee in the dust. Stammen reached the heads-up stage of the event and struck a deal with a player known as “Neeeeek” who went on to win. The winner’s share of the prize-pool was $200k, while the Stammen, the runner-up, walked away with $178.79k. There was only one more 6-figure winner in the event: third-place man “ozzieowen” walked away with $116.3k.
Tobias Reinkemeier played in the event too and he made a deep run as well: he finished 5th for $59.6k.
Chris Dombrowski made a relatively deep run as well, together with Joe Serock.
Full Tilt Poker’s MiniFTOPS Main Event created two 6-figure winners as well. There were no deals made in this event: the eventual winner, “lawnmower0” walked away with $152.6k, while the runner-up, “silentmaster” took home $102.5k.
